Do you ship overseas?
Yes, we ship all over the world. Shipping costs will apply, and will be added at checkout.
How long will it take to get my order?
It depends on where you are. Orders processed here will take 5-7 business days to arrive. Overseas deliveries can take anywhere from 7-16 days. Delivery details will be provided in your confirmation email.
What shipping carriers do you use?
We use all major carriers, and local courier partners. You’ll be asked to select a delivery method during checkout.
About Commissions
At what scale are the subjects painted?
For portraits, figures are usually painted life size unless otherwise agreed upon beforehand. If it is agreed that the subject will be at a scale less than life size, the price will be the same.
What if I would like additional figures on the canvas?
Portraits sometimes require multiple figures. We would discuss this and the price adjustment when building out the contract for your portrait.
Is there any discount for multiple portraits?
Typically, there is a 10% discount for each additional sitter for separate portraits.
Do you paint from life, or do you paint from photos?
I do both. I prefer painting from life, but I have painted many portraits from photographs due to necessity. I like to consult on the photograph(s) first to determine whether I can paint a good portrait from what you have.
Is there a discount if you paint from a photograph?
No.
Do you paint married couples?
Yes.
Can I come to your studio to sit for the painting?
Certainly, that’s a great way to get a good portrait.
Can you come to my house to paint the portrait?
Many situations merit doing a portrait from the sitter’s home. We would discuss this when making up your portrait contract, and it might include live sittings plus photographs which I would take. Mileage and the number of sittings would of course effect the price.
Do you frame the painting?
I can help with framing and with installation. It is an additional cost to the painting itself.
Do you charge extra if my pet is in the painting?
Yes. I treat the pet as another subject.
Do you paint complex backgrounds?
Yes, if the painting calls for it or if the client especially wants a certain detailed background. We can discuss and build out the contract that embodies your vision. I would not want the background to distract from the subject; however, a detailed background can add to the character and mood of your portrait. Such a background will typically increase the cost of your portrait.
What if I would like a custom sized portrait that is not listed?
We can discuss this. A custom sized canvas typically has an up charge.
Can prints be made of the final painting, to share with family members?
I retain the copyright to all images I paint, but we can discuss the price to print Giclée Fine Art prints beforehand.
